Edward Geiser
Managing Partner and Head of Investment Committee
Mr. Geiser is the Managing Partner and CEO of Juniper Capital Advisors. Prior to the establishment of Juniper Capital, Mr. Geiser was a Managing Director at Och-Ziff Capital Management where he focused on Och-Ziff’s private investing activity in the energy industry in North America for over five years. While at Och-Ziff, Mr. Geiser interacted with eight operating management teams and was on the board, advisory or steering committees of over 30 companies or investment entities.
Prior to Och-Ziff, Mr. Geiser worked at each of the Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley Investment Banking Groups in Houston, where he provided strategic advisory and capital markets services to companies involved in the energy industry, with a particular emphasis on buy-side and sell-side advisory services to companies in the E&P sector. Prior to this, Mr. Geiser assisted with the formation and investments of Juniper Capital I. During his time at Juniper Capital I, Mr. Geiser helped to source, structure and manage the firm’s investments. Mr. Geiser received a B.S. in Finance from the Louisiana State University.

Richard K. Gordon
Mr. Gordon established Juniper Capital in 2003. Juniper Capital and its affiliates have owned in excess of $2.0 billion of energy-related assets since being established. Prior to Juniper, Mr. Gordon was a Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch’s Investment Banking Group and head of the firm’s energy, power, structured finance and Canadian groups. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 1993, Mr. Gordon was a Managing Director and head of the Energy Group of The First Boston Corporation.
In addition to forming Juniper Capital and Juniper Energy, Mr. Gordon has founded or co-founded more than ten other companies engaged in various activities, including energy, telecommunications, restaurants, and real estate development. Mr. Gordon currently serves on a number of public and private boards, including Atmos Energy, the nation’s second largest distributor of natural gas, Resuscitation International, LLC, a medical device provider located in Scottsdale, AZ, and ExoStat, a medical device provider located in Minneapolis, MN. Mr. Gordon holds a B.A. from Colgate University and a M.B.A. from Cornell University.

Kevin Cumming
Mr. Cumming is a Partner of Juniper. Prior to joining Juniper, Mr. Cumming co-founded and served as President of Expedition Water Solutions, a private equity-backed oilfield wastewater disposal company. Prior to Expedition, Mr. Cumming was Director of Corporate Development at Select Energy Services, where he was in charge of sourcing, evaluating and closing acquisitions and organic investment opportunities for Select’s various oilfield service businesses.
Prior to joining Select, Mr. Cumming served as a Vice President of White Deer Energy, a Houston-based middle-market private equity firm focused on the energy industry (but primarily upstream, oilfield services and oilfield equipment manufacturing). Prior to joining White Deer Energy, Mr. Cumming was an investment professional at Buckeye Partners. Prior to joining Buckeye Partners, Mr. Cumming worked in an investment role at Juniper Capital I, working with Mr. Geiser and Mr. Gordon. Mr. Cumming holds a B.B.A. in Business Honors and Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and a M.B.A. from Rice University.

Scott Gallun, CPA, JD
Chief Financial Officer
Mr Gallun has over 15 years of accounting, finance and investing experience, primarily in the energy industry.  Prior to joining Juniper, Mr. Gallun served as Controller at PVI Holdings, working with a portfolio of eight wholly owned operating companies.  While at PVI, Mr. Gallun was responsible for the overall accounting and finance functions of the group, working closely with operating company accounting and finance personnel and outside CPA firms.  Also at PVI, Mr. Gallun was involved in the due diligence process of acquisition targets as well as the integration of acquired entities.
Prior to joining PVI, Mr. Gallun’s work experience includes working in the corporate accounting groups at Nabors Industries and Loews Corporation as wells as a financial auditor for Ernst & Young.  Mr. Gallun was in the Integrated MPA program at the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration and a Masters in Professional Accounting.  Mr. Gallun also graduated from Brooklyn Law School with a Juris Doctor degree.

Tim Gray, JD
General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer
Prior to joining Juniper, Mr. Gray was a Managing Director and General Counsel at Och-Ziff Capital Management Group where he focused primarily on Och-Ziff’s private investing activities in the energy, credit and structured credit industries in North America for over eight years. Prior to joining Och-Ziff, Mr. Gray was Counsel in the Corporate and Transactional Practice Group at O’Melveny & Myers LLP. Mr. Gray holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.S. in Business Administration and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Josh Schmidt
Mr. Schmidt has over 10 years of experience in the Capital Markets and Energy Industry. Prior to joining Juniper, Mr. Schmidt served as a Trader and Fundamental Analyst for Whiteside Energy. At Whiteside, Mr. Schmidt was responsible for managing portfolios in natural gas and electricity markets across all regions of the United States.
In addition to his role as a trader, Josh was responsible for developing and maintaining numerous models that provided a proprietary, data-driven view of real-time supply and demand fundamentals in both natural gas and electricity markets. Prior to Whiteside, Mr. Schmidt worked at Citigroup Energy in Houston as a natural gas and electricity trader. Mr. Schmidt received a B.S. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.

Brent Willson
Director of Portfolio Services
Mr. Willson has over 20 years of experience in investment management, finance and accounting, primarily in the oil and gas, mining and power industries.  Mr. Willson previously served as the Director of the Portfolio Services Group at Denham Capital Management.  While at Denham, Mr. Willson was responsible for building out the portfolio management function. In that role, Mr. Willson implemented processes and systems to gather, analyze and report portfolio company performance, identified and executed fund and portfolio company improvement efforts, and served as the CFO of one of Denham’s portfolio companies.  Prior to joining Denham, Mr. Willson was a Director in the Transaction Services Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he provided due diligence services for energy clients, and prior to that was an auditor at Ernst & Young. Mr. Willson holds a B.S. in Accounting from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a M.B.A. from Rice University, and is a CPA.

Ian Bird
Vice President
Prior to joining Juniper, Mr. Bird worked for Whiteside Energy as a Vice President in the Gas and Power Analytics group. He also managed gas and power trading books for Whiteside and Velocity Merchant Energy. Mr. Bird developed his background knowledge of energy markets through his experience with the Bonneville Power Administration working in hydro power planning and later with Citigroup Energy as the Vice President of West Power Fundamentals.
He has been working in the energy industry for over 15 years. Mr. Bird graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Chase Schrotel
Nr, Schrotel has over 5 years of experience in the energy industry. Prior to joining Juniper, Mr. Schrotel worked for Whiteside Energy as a Fundamental Analyst. He has gained extensive experience in the natural gas market and in the study of the performance and economics of natural gas and oil wells in the United States.
His analytical expertise is primarily related to well performance, operator research, pipeline receipts, and mapping. Mr. Schrotel holds a B.S. in Finance from Baylor University.

Sean Pan
Prior to joining Juniper, Mr. Pan was a petroleum engineer at Texas Oil and Gas Institute (TOGI), where his focus was in development of data analytics tools for operators’ studies in the Midland Basin and technical analysis on reservoir performance and completion optimization. Prior to TOGI, Mr. Pan was a reservoir engineer at Tower Rock Oil and Gas where he was responsible for evaluating well economics to assist in the company's investment in oil and gas assets. Mr. Pan holds a B.S. with high honors and an M.S. from The University of Texas at Austin, both in petroleum engineering.
